Location: Home > Health & Fitness Do cellular telephones cause brain tumors?
However, current research suggests that this may not be the case over the short term. A study by Roosli, Michel, Kuehni and Spoerri (February 2007) in Switzerland analysed data from people who have died of a brain tumour between 1969 and 2002. By comparing mortality rates before and after 1987, when mobile phone technology was introduced in Switzerland, they did not find an increased risk for people who frequently used mobile phones. However, the authors caution that it takes a long time for tumors to form and that long-term studies are needed to verify their data one way or the other.
