Why bar staff will not serve Afghanistan veteran

Former Royal Marine Tom Birch, from Nottingham, sustained a serious brain injury in 2006 while serving in Afghanistan.

The injury has left him with slurred speech, and as a result he finds getting served in bars difficult because staff often think he is drunk.

He told BBC Radio 5 live that this often leads to the police getting involved.

The charity Headway hopes that a brain injury identity card could help.
